We may use cookies on www.approvalmax.com (the Site) or on our mobile application or browser-based application at app.approvalmax.com (collectively, the App). In this Cookie Policy we, us or our means ApprovalMax Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with CRN 11326265. Please read the following carefully to understand how we use cookies.
This Cookie Policy applies to all websites operated by ApprovalMax, including approvalmax.com and tothemax.online, as well as any other domains where we deploy cookies, similar technologies and tracking tools. The cookies and tracking technologies described in this Policy may be placed on both approvalmax.com and tothemax.online, which use the same HubSpot implementation for analytics, marketing automation and content engagement tracking.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we store on your browser. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer's hard drive (or the hard drive of another relevant device). We use cookies to distinguish you from other users of the Site or App, to tailor your experience to your preferences, to measure our marketing and to help us improve the Site and App.
Your consent
Some of the cookies we use are essential for the Site or App to operate. All other cookies are placed only after you give consent through our cookie banner. The banner groups cookies into four categories: Necessary, Analytics, Advertisement and Functionality. You can accept or decline each category except Necessary.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by reopening the cookie settings on the Site. When you withdraw consent for a category, we stop setting cookies in that category, and our own cookies in that category are deleted from your browser.
You can also block cookies in your browser settings. If you block all cookies (including essential cookies), you may not be able to access all or parts of the Site or App. For details, consult the help menu of your browser.
Cookie categories
- Necessary. These cookies are required to save your session, record your cookie choices and carry out other activities that are strictly necessary for the operation of the Site and App. They include, for example, cookies that let you log into secure areas of the App or use e-billing services. When you use the App, we also use cookies to collect the contact information needed to send the notifications our App service requires. These cookies cannot be switched off.
- Analytics. These cookies allow us to recognise and count visitors and to see how they move around the Site or App. They help us improve how the Site and App work, for example by making sure that users find what they are looking for easily. This category includes Google Tag Manager (GTM) and the Unify website tag, which we use for analytics, intent identification (recognising companies or visitors to prioritise engagement), suppression-first outreach and measuring site performance.
- Advertisement. These cookies help us measure and improve our advertising. They show us which campaigns, ads and links bring visitors to the Site and which of those visitors go on to sign up for ApprovalMax, and help us avoid showing ads to people who have already seen them. This category includes our own attribution cookie, am_attr, described below, and advertising cookies set by third parties such as Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Functionality. These cookies recognise you when you return to the Site or App. They let us personalise content, greet you by name, remember your preferences (such as language and currency) and remember your chat history.
- Social media content. When we embed photos, video or other content from social media websites, the embedded pages may set their own cookies. Likewise, if you share our content on social media, the service you use may set a cookie. These cookies are set only in line with the category choices you make in our cookie banner.
Our attribution cookie (am_attr)
If you accept Advertisement cookies, we set a first-party cookie named am_attr. It records your most recent visits to our websites, up to 10 visits. For each visit it stores:
- the page you landed on;
- the website you came from (domain only);
- campaign parameters in the link you followed (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term, utm_id);
- ad click identifiers in that link (gclid, fbclid, msclkid, li_fat_id, ttclid);
- the time of the visit.
The cookie does not contain your name, email address or any other contact details. On approvalmax.com it is shared across our subdomains, so that when you sign up at app.approvalmax.com we can attribute your account to the campaign that brought you to us.
We do not set or read am_attr before you accept Advertisement cookies. If you decline, nothing is stored. If you later withdraw consent, am_attr is deleted immediately.
am_attr is kept for up to 400 days from your most recent recorded visit. Some browsers, such as Safari, shorten this period automatically.
Third-party cookies
We use third-party cookies on the Site from Advocately, Facebook, Google Analytics, Google Ads, G2, Zoho, HubSpot, LinkedIn, Drift, Hotjar, Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads), Microsoft Clarity and Unify to gather user information and analyse user behaviour. Data collected through the Unify tag may be processed by Unify's verified sub-processors (such as 6Sense, Clearbit, Demandbase or Snitcher) solely for accurate intent matching and de-anonymisation. Third parties control the cookies they set; please check their websites for more information about those cookies.
Google Consent Mode
We use Google's Advanced Consent Mode to comply with privacy regulations, including the UK GDPR, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the EU ePrivacy Directive. It controls how Google cookies, such as those used by Google Analytics and Google Ads, behave based on your consent choices:
- Necessary cookies are unaffected and keep working as required.
- Analytics and advertising cookies from Google are not set until you give explicit consent through our cookie banner.
For more details, see Google's official documentation: Google Consent Mode.
List of cookies
You can find the main cookies we use, their category, their purpose and how long they last in our list of cookies. For cookies deployed through third-party tools, including Unify and GTM, the expiry dates are set by the provider and are shown in the list where known.
